Melanie, thanks for your reply. I hope people realize I am not telling them to "stand down"...in fact to stand up, but don't step on the people who can help sustain you on your journey...and many times it's those with wisdom who are your best allies!! I appreciate your reply. RC
Thanks for the reply...Charles let me be clear, I am not a fan of Carville...I am not saying to dismiss these young folks at all...in fact I am saying embrace them and I have been saying that for a long time, they are bold and filled with the energy needed...however, I am also not a fan of Primarying Democrats when that energy/money needs to be focused on "ineffective and dangerous Republicans", there are more of them than ineffective Dems, in any district...these young guns also need to partner with, rather than "kick out" our team!! Reread my post...I made that clear!
Agreed...you cannot dismiss the people who have come before you as there is tons of wisdom to be had from them. Use it or don't, but don't but don't discard/shy away from/or push it away just because they are the narrative/habits you are trying to escape from. There's an old saying, "listen to your elders, not because they are always right, but because they have more experiences of being wrong." and always remember that Age is not a barrier to success; its a ladder to wisdom. Use those tools to help you succeed. ~ from an old fierce white woman blue dot in a sea of red domiciled in Indiana!
I understand the point you're making, but I'm afraid that I disagree. It's political hustlers like Carville that have put the Dems in this bad position. If these young folks are dismissed, they'll go elsewhere.( Green, Communists, etc.) It's their turn. We old folks need to get out of their way.
